About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team at a prestigious research and commercial campus in Saffron Walden. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team responsible for maintaining a high-quality environment, ensuring all electrical systems and building services operate safely and efficiently. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of building maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems
- Fault find and repair lighting, power, emergency lighting, and electrical distribution systems
- Support the maintenance of mechanical building services and associated plant where required
- Conduct routine plant room inspections and ensure equipment is operating efficiently
- Complete maintenance records and update CAFM systems accurately
- Liaise with contractors and the wider engineering team to ensure works are completed to a high standard
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures
- Identify opportunities for remedial works and continuous improvements
About You
- Fully qualified Electrician (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
- Previous experience within commercial building maintenance
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of building services systems and plant
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support the wider team
- Reliable, proactive, and able to build strong working relationships
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
