We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead Engineer to oversee mechanical maintenance operations at a prestigious commercial site near Liverpool Street. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standard while overseeing a team of 3 engineers delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of 3 engineers on-site
  • Oversee daily mechanical maintenance operations across the building
  • Carry out and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Maintain and fault-find on mechanical systems including HVAC, pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, pipework, and associated plant
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and site regulations
  • Coordinate subcontractors and specialist service providers on-site
  • Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Complete maintenance reports, logbooks, and documentation accurately
  • Act as a key point of contact for the client and site management team

About You

  • Strong mechanical engineering background within commercial building maintenance
  • Relevant mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience leading or supervising engineering teams
  • Good knowledge of HVAC and building services systems
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Professional and client-facing approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
