The Role

We're looking for a manager to join our dynamic Welfare division, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Hire Desk and Transport operation. You'll lead a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations while helping to drive revenue growth and operational excellence. What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function
- Motivating, coaching, and developing a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers
- Driving revenue growth through proactive promotion of consumables, accessories, and additional hire opportunities
- Monitoring transport performance to ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time
- Ensuring the accurate processing of hires, off-hires, exchanges, and transport activities
- Resolving customer queries, hire issues, and administrative discrepancies efficiently
- Working closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability
About You
What You'll Bring
- Ideally you will have experience managing a hire desk, transport operation, or similar customer-facing team
- Strong people management and coaching skills with the ability to develop and motivate others
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- A good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within an operational environment
- Experience within the plant hire industry would be advantageous, although candidates from similar operational backgrounds will also be considered
