Financial Controller – UK (Hybrid)

Join a high-growth finance business and take full ownership of the accounting engine. As Financial Controller, you’ll lead the Accounts function end-to-end—tight month/ year-end closes, rock-solid controls, clean audits, and decision-ready MI—reporting to the Finance Director and sitting on the Operational Managers team.

What you’ll do

Own all finance operations across multi-entity ledgers: GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, cash, reconciliations.

*

Close the books on time every month; deliver board-quality MI, variance analysis and insightful commentary.

*

Budgeting & forecasting: build the plan, track performance, course-correct with stakeholders.

*

Authorise journals, payments and invoices; uphold financial control and policy compliance.

*

Lead statutory, regulatory and tax reporting; liaise with external and internal auditors.

*

Champion process improvement and automation across finance and the wider business.

*

Lead, coach and grow the Accounts team; set KPIs, run appraisals, recruit and develop talent.

What you’ll bring

Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with 5+ years post-qual experience, including team leadership.

*

Proven controller in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment (multi-entity preferred).

*

Expert in month-end, year-end, regulatory reporting and audit readiness.

*

Strong systems/Excel skills and a continuous-improvement mindset.

*

Clear, confident communicator who can influence at FD/Board level
