We’re supporting a public sector client in the search for an experienced Change & Release Manager to join a large-scale IT service environment. This role will be responsible for overseeing ITIL-aligned change and release management processes, ensuring changes are delivered effectively, with minimal disruption to critical services.
You’ll work closely with technical teams, project managers, and key stakeholders to coordinate end-to-end change activity, manage release schedules, assess risk, and drive continuous improvement across the service delivery function.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain ITIL change and release management processes
- Coordinate and oversee change and release activity across multiple environments
- Conduct impact and risk assessments for proposed changes
- Review and approve change requests in line with governance standards
- Lead post-implementation reviews and identify areas for improvement
- Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure smooth deployments
- Promote best practice across change and release management activities
- Strong experience within Change & Release Management in an ITIL environment
- Hands-on experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or BMC Helix
- Excellent understanding of ITIL processes including Change, Release, and Service Transition
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within complex environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- ITIL certification preferred
- Experience working within the public sector or other highly regulated environments
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
