Technical Security Engineer
Are you a technical engineer with deep cybersecurity expertise and a passion for solving complex design challenges? We're seeking a Technical Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping secure, scalable solution architectures across large-scale IT transformation programmes.
About the Role
As a Technical Solutions Delivery Engineer, you'll take ownership of end-to-end solution design and be responsible for delivering high-level design documents aligned with business strategy, security standards, and architecture principles. You'll work closely with design authorities, technical SMEs, and project leadership to provide technical thought leadership and ensure secure, efficient and cost-effective solution outcomes.
This role requires strong cybersecurity domain knowledge, governance experience, and the ability to influence technical decisions at the highest level.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, manage, and evolve end-to-end solution architectures for transformation projects
- Create and maintain architecture patterns, decision records, and risk logs
- Present design artefacts to senior stakeholders and governance boards
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and manage design dependencies
- Ensure alignment between technical solutions and business outcomes
- Act as subject matter expert on cybersecurity, especially in identity, access management and encryption
- Collaborate across teams to ensure best practices and secure implementation
- Support project governance processes and documentation standards
What We're Looking For
Cybersecurity Expertise:
Proven technical depth in Identity & Access Management, Privileged Access, Cryptography, and SSH Key Management
Experience engaging both security and non-security stakeholders in large transformation programmes
Qualifications & Certifications:
Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering (or equivalent)
CISSP, CISM, or equivalent industry-recognised certification
Tools & Platforms:
Proficiency in BizzDesign, Archi, or UML for architecture modelling
Hands-on experience with Jira (project/task management) and Confluence (documentation)
Soft Skills:
Clear, confident communicator across all levels
Strong governance and decision-making approach
Able to challenge and influence technical direction and decisions
