Business Resilience Risk Analyst - Contract

Location: Sheffield - Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Contract: Inside IR35
Specialism: Business Resilience | Risk & Controls | Technology Recovery | Operational Resilience

Help Protect Critical Technology Services and Strengthen Business Resilience

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Business Resilience Risk Analyst to join a major technology risk and resilience function within a complex, enterprise-scale environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in Risk & Controls, Operational Resilience or Technology Risk who wants to take the next step in their career, developing specialist expertise in Business Recovery technologies and resilience controls.

Working within a first-line-of-defence team, you'll play an important role in assessing how effectively critical technology services can withstand disruption, recover from incidents and maintain business continuity.

You'll work closely with technology specialists, risk professionals and business stakeholders, gaining exposure to complex recovery environments while helping to strengthen resilience across the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reviewing and assessing Business Resilience and Business Recovery controls against established standards, policies and performance metrics.

  • Identifying control weaknesses, technology risks and potential gaps in business recovery capabilities.

  • Evaluating resilience arrangements supporting critical business services and technology infrastructure.

  • Working collaboratively with multiple technology and business teams to understand recovery dependencies, risks and control effectiveness.

  • Supporting risk remediation activities, tracking actions and ensuring identified issues are appropriately managed.

  • Helping strengthen resilience governance, reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Developing specialist knowledge of Business Recovery technologies, with the opportunity to become a recognised subject matter expert.

What We’re Looking For

We're particularly interested in candidates who combine strong analytical skills with an understanding of technology risk and the confidence to engage with stakeholders across different business functions.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Risk & Controls, Business Resilience, Operational Resilience or Technology Risk.

  • A good understanding of business continuity, technology recovery and resilience controls.

  • Experience reviewing control effectiveness, identifying risks and supporting remediation plans.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to coordinate activities across multiple teams.

  • An understanding of technology environments, infrastructure and their importance to business recovery.

  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.

  • A proactive, curious mindset and the ambition to develop deeper technical expertise.

Experience That Would Make You Stand Out

  • Exposure to disaster recovery, technology resilience or Business Recovery technologies.

  • Knowledge of backup, replication, failover, recovery testing or recovery strategies.

  • Experience working within banking, financial services or another highly regulated industry.

  • Familiarity with technology controls, IAM/IDAM, SDLC or infrastructure risk.

  • An interest in emerging technologies, including AI, and their implications for operational resilience.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This isn't simply another risk and controls position.

It's an opportunity to develop a valuable and increasingly important specialism at the intersection of technology, risk management and business resilience.

You’ll gain exposure to enterprise-scale technology recovery environments, collaborate with experienced specialists and build expertise in an area that is becoming increasingly critical to major organisations.

We’re not necessarily looking for someone who already knows everything about Business Recovery technologies. We’re looking for someone with the right risk and controls foundation, strong stakeholder skills and the enthusiasm to become an expert.

Interested?

If you have experience in Technology Risk, Risk & Controls or Business Resilience and are looking for a contract that offers both immediate impact and genuine professional development, we'd love to hear from you.
