Client is currently seeking a full-time (30-hours) MRI Technologist for their Fairfield, Connecticut facility. As an MRI Technologist you will be responsible for maintaining imaging equipment to ensure that patients are protected and in an optimal position for imaging. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal communication skills as well the ability to communicate and engage with physicians, and patients. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for gathering patient medical histories, explaining the scanning process, as well as reviewing and documenting all patient-related records. The MRI Technologist is also responsible for assisting Radiologists with special procedures such as arthrograms. Candidates should have both technical and physical strength necessary to operate the scanner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI procedures as ordered with a high level of quality, care and timeliness
  • Escort patients to dressing rooms and procedure room
  • Explain MRI procedures and answer any questions or concerns
  • Maintain and follow all MRI safety guidelines
  • Complete related paperwork
  • Administer I.V. contrast
  • Conduct Quality Control when needed, monitor machine and equipment reporting any malfunctions to site supervisor/manager

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent 2-year college or technical school
  • 6-12 months experience and/or training preferred
  • ARRT (R) required
  • ARRT (R)(MRI) preferred

MRI schedule: Evening shifts (2:30 PM–9:30 PM) with every other Saturday (8:00 AM–2:00 PM).
