A school in Livingston, New Jersey is looking for a Physical Therapist for a maternity leave contract running from September 8, 2026 through February 2027. You will work with high school students with physical disabilities in a school based setting, helping them access their education and build functional independence.

What you will be doing:
- Conducting comprehensive physical therapy evaluations covering gross motor skills, mobility, strength, balance, coordination and functional performance
- Developing individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals
- Providing direct and consultative PT services in individual and small group settings
- Collaborating with teachers, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists and other multidisciplinary team members
- Recommending and monitoring adaptive equipment, mobility devices and seating systems
- Educating school staff and families on therapeutic strategies and positioning techniques
- Maintaining documentation in compliance with IDEA, state regulations and district policies
What you need to bring:
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Active New Jersey Physical Therapist license
- Experience working with students with physical disabilities, neurological disorders or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of special education law, IDEA and IEP development
- School based pediatric experience preferred
- Ability to assist students with transfers, positioning, lifting and mobility
This is a maternity leave contract from September 8, 2026 through February 2027. Six hours a day, five days a week in Livingston, New Jersey.
