We are looking for a print or packaging manufacturing experienced Operations Manager or Factory Manager to join our client's large print site in the South, responsible for all on-site manufacturing and operations.
You would be responsible for:
- Overseeing day-to-day onsite activities ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Site leadership and support
- Directly managing Shift Managers
- All Dispatch and Goods across multiple sites
- Site Health, Safety and Compliance
- Site Engineering and Maintenance
- Site Print Production (Digital/Litho)
- All daily performance
- Site scheduled maintenance
- Site supplier relationships
- All site operational projects, including budget and delivery
- Oversee all site KPI Performance, including running daily ‘board walk’ and following through with actions across all stakeholders
- Support sister site by attending select meetings and promoting consistency across sites
- Site Training & Development – own and oversee training plan, ensuring all Operational employees receive required training across machines and departments
- Lead weekly site Operations Meeting. Attend senior management Divisional Ops meeting
- Champion apprenticeship initiative. Provide support for training providers and mentorship for employees embarking on apprenticeships
- Manage budgeted costs for the site, including carriage, labour, machine repairs and maintenance building and fabric repairs
- Site Waste – overs, paper
- Site planning of labour requirements based on operational requirements
- Manage site and building facilities ensuring the safety, sustainability and efficiency of the buildings
- Collaborate and coordinate with Divisional General Manager and sister site Operations Manager, on budget around planned and preventative maintenance and repairs
- Manage key external relationships for suppliers to machines, equipment, parts and servicing
- Establish and manage communication channels to ensure key information is delivered to all employees, encouraging healthy employee relationships
- Work closely with HR department, supporting recruitment processes, including interviews, probation reviews, staff issues etc., including managing investigations, disciplinaries and grievances as required for Operational staff in line with HR policies
It’s a dynamic role, very active on the shop floor and will require you to be a confident manager and problem solver, used to working in a complex and fast-moving print production environment, with experience in complex print production in an operational leadership role.
