We’re working with a large pan-European manufacturing business which operates 7 days a week and is actively seeking to add an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Electrician to join its site Manufacturing Engineering Support teams.
Hours and Shift: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday based on Double Day shift – 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm. Participation in weekend On Call Rota (approx 1 in 5).
Location: near Chippenham, Wiltshire.
Salary: Circa £40,000 plus £3,800 annual on call allowance.
Responsibilities:
- Reactive Maintenance on automated production machinery
- Pre-planned Maintenance (PPM) – Input to and carry out preventive maintenance routines
- Mechanical fault finding
- Electrical fault finding with and without diagrams (three phase and control systems)
- Fault finding and repair on hydraulic or pneumatic systems
- Small installation projects
- Continuous Improvement to maintain optimal machine efficiency
- Keep clean any areas in which you are working, including transit areas to and from the workshop, the workshop and stores
- Support the Operations team in achieving targets
- Comply with the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Contribute to cost effective technical solutions
- Deliver to the operational expectations
- Be part of a weekend call‑out rota
Qualifications and Experience:
- A recognised industrial Electrical qualification 18th Edition and Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) is preferred
- Experience working as a Shift Engineer or as a dedicated Electrical or Multiskilled Engineer in a Manufacturing environment
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment is critical; print, packaging or related industries would be helpful
- Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams
- Experience with maintenance PPM and RM programmes
- Ideally experience working a buddy system with a Mechanical or Multiskilled Engineer
- Good communication, organisational and teamwork skills
- Self‑motivation, initiative and determination
Specific training where required will be provided, OEM suppliers and via remote modem diagnostic support from the OEM. This is a great opportunity to join a leading manufacturer in a key maintenance engineering role working on large scale machinery in a time‑sensitive manufacturing environment.
