Introduction

We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation undergoing a major transformation programme and are seeking an experienced DBA to join an enterprise data project team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on DBA with strong experience across both traditional relational databases and modern distributed data platforms. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to define scalable, resilient, and future-proof solutions that support critical financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain enterprise data models.
  • Develop domain, conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Design solutions across relational and distributed database platforms.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to align data strategy with business objectives.
  • Support data transformation, migration, and modernisation initiatives.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience as a DBA / Data Modeller within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in data modelling and enterprise data design.
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed database technologies such as Cassandra and/or YugabyteDB.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, scalability, resilience, partitioning, and replication strategies.
  • Experience working within Financial Services, Banking, Capital Markets, Trading, Risk, or Regulatory environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
