Are you a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe seeking a qualified SEN Teacher to join their specialist SEND Unit after October half term on a maternity cover contract for up to one year.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils across EYFS and KS1 who have a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), speech and language needs, communication difficulties, and developmental delays. The successful candidate will provide engaging, personalised learning tailored to each child's individual needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured environment.

Working alongside an experienced team of Teaching Assistants and SEN professionals, you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons, monitoring progress against EHCP outcomes, and creating a safe, inclusive classroom where every child can thrive. Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues will be key to your success in this role.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching within EYFS and/or KS1
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist provision or SEND unit
  • A sound understanding of adapting the curriculum to meet a range of additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills
  • A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach to teaching
