About the Role
We are seeking a caring and motivated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist ASC school. The school provides education for young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) who are working at a significantly lower developmental level and require tailored support to access learning and daily activities. This role involves providing 1:1 support within a Year 3 classroom, helping students develop communication, independence, and life skills in a safe and structured setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with autism in classroom activities and structured learning sessions
- Provide 1:1 support to individual learners when required
- Assist the teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and activities
- Encourage communication, social interaction, and independence
- Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Help with personal care where required
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
