About our Team

The National Cross Markets New Business Team drives revenue growth by identifying, engaging, and winning new customers across multiple industries. Through a consultative approach, the team helps organizations address risk, fraud, compliance, identity, and data management challenges with LexisNexis Risk Solutions' innovative solutions.

About the Role

The Sales Intern will participate in comprehensive new-hire training and gain exposure to all aspects of LexisNexis Risk Solutions. In this role, you will help build qualified sales opportunities for Sales Executives through prospecting, outreach, research, and lead development, including outbound cold‑calling and email campaigns. This role provides hands‑on exposure to consultative selling, customer engagement, and sales operations in a fast‑paced technology and data solutions environment. The intern will create industry‑specific prospect lists and use LinkedIn Navigator to conduct outreach through phone, email, and InMail to schedule meetings with prospective customers and support the sales team. The Sales Intern will also attend client calls with the sales team. This is an opportunity to develop foundational sales skills while contributing to meaningful business growth initiatives.

  • Program Dates: May 24 – July 30, 2027
  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Location: On‑site in Alpharetta, GA. Candidates should be able to work on‑site for the duration of the internship.
  • Relocation Assistance: Relocation assistance is not available for this internship.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Candidates must be currently enrolled undergraduate students with an expected graduation date of May 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop targeted prospect accounts through outbound phone outreach and email campaigns.
  • Conduct consultative training exercises to develop fundamental selling skills, product knowledge, and more.
  • Qualify prospective customers via phone and email by identifying business needs, challenges, and key decision‑makers.
  • Utilize CRM to record activities, route leads, and coordinate SAO management processes.
  • Help convert marketing leads into sales opportunities by educating and engaging prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with Sales Executives to schedule discovery meetings and advance qualified opportunities through the sales process.
  • Improve technical selling skills and product knowledge for effective presentations to potential customers.
  • Deliver a professional and positive experience for prospects while developing product knowledge and consultative selling skills.

Requirements

  • Be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in professional selling, marketing, business, or a related field of study with a graduation date of May 2028.
  • Prior experience with sales, prospecting, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), business research, or customer-facing activities is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, interest in sales, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the business benefits and functionality of software solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage professionally with prospective customers.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze information, and identify potential business opportunities.
  • Professionalism, reliability, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Salary

$20/hour
