We are seeking a dynamic and driven Employment Solicitor or Fee Earner with 1–5 years' post-qualification experience to lead and develop our emerging Employment Law team based in Redcar. This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, combining fee-earning responsibilities with a leadership role. You will play a key part in building the employment department, shaping strategy, and delivering expert legal services to a growing client base of both individuals and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of employment law matters, including:
- Unfair dismissal
- Discrimination claims
- Redundancy and restructuring
- Settlement agreements
- Employment contracts, policies, and procedures
- Represent clients in Employment Tribunals and negotiations.
- Support the firm’s business development activities in employment law.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior team members as the department grows.
- Stay up to date with changes in employment legislation and case law.
- Work closely with partners to build the employment law offering.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or experienced Fee Earner with 1–5 years’ PQE in employment law.
- Strong experience advising both employees and employers on contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Proven ability to manage your own caseload independently.
- Ambition and leadership qualities to grow a new team.
- Excellent client care, communication, and business development skills.
