Key Responsibilities:
- Draft detailed and accurate bills of costs.
- Prepare costs budgets and statements.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing parties.
- Provide expert advice on cost-related matters.
- Handle both contentious and non-contentious costs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant case law and legislation.
- Manage own caseload independently from start to finish.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in legal costs drafting, with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in costs drafting software and legal case management systems.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex legal documents and provide detailed cost analyses.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in preparing accurate and comprehensive bills of costs.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Autonomy: Capable of managing own caseload independently.
