Talent Media are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading high-precision manufacturing business within the advanced engineering sector, as they look to appoint a CNC Operator EDM to join their team at their Glasgow facility. Our client delivers complex, precision-engineered components to highly regulated industries, operating to exceptionally high quality and technical standards.
This role will focus on the set-up and operation of EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including both spark and wire erosion processes, ensuring components are manufactured accurately to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate EDM machinery (spark and wire erosion)
- Load materials and unload finished components
- Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
- Interpret and work from technical engineering drawings
- Maintain accurate production records, including machine adjustments and issues
- Conduct routine machine checks and report any faults or safety concerns
- Ensure machines are stocked with tooling and materials to minimise downtime
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality
- Effective communication and team collaboration
- Ability to follow technical instructions and processes
- Proactive and adaptable to production demands
- Safety-conscious approach in a manufacturing environment
- Ideally time-served or experienced in EDM machining
- Experience with 5-axis machining and EDM is highly desirable
- Will also consider candidates with EDM experience alongside another machining discipline
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances on precision components
- Good understanding of manufacturing and safety procedures
- £22.01 per hour + shift allowance
- 37 hours per week
- Three-shift rotation (early, back, night shift)
- Day shift for the first 4 weeks during training
- Full-time, permanent opportunity
