With a reputation for quality and innovation, our client's mechanical systems support critical infrastructure across sectors such as power generation, oil & gas, and waste management.
This is a hybrid role offering the perfect blend of hands-on assembly work and field-based service and commissioning projects.
Working Hours:
- Total: 37 hours per week, structured as follows:
- Monday & Wednesday: 07:45 to 16:30 (8.15 hours)
- Tuesday & Thursday: 07:45 to 16:00 (7.75 hours)
- Friday: 07:45 to 12:45 (5 hours)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble gearboxes and mechanical sub-assemblies to precise specifications.
- Final assembly and in-house testing of sootblower systems.
- Carry out mechanical servicing, inspections, maintenance, and overhauls at customer sites across the UK and occasionally abroad.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and follow standardised procedures.
- Adhere to health & safety policies, including Safe Systems of Work and lock-out/tag-out protocols.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and documentation to professional standards.
- Support customers on-site, ensuring work meets safety, quality, and performance requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Recognised mechanical apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical assembly.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing, field service, or maintenance engineering.
- Proactive problem-solver with a methodical and practical approach.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport (essential due to travel requirements).
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends when needed.
