Our client is at the forefront of providing aftermarket solutions, specialising in equipment upgrades, parts, and service support. They are seeking a dynamic Aftermarket Development Manager to drive business growth, strengthen customer relationships, and expand their market presence.

Job Summary: Reporting to the General Manager, the Aftermarket Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and increasing sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development within a manufacturing environment, strong marketing and customer engagement skills, and a solid understanding of aftermarket services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Strategy: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, trends, and customer needs within the biomass, waste-to-energy, and pulp & paper sectors.
  • Competitor Analysis: Gather insights on competitors and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement growth-focused strategies aligned with the companyโ€™s long-term objectives.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients, representing the company in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Sales & Contracts: Prepare bids, negotiate contracts, and secure profitable business agreements.
  • Marketing & Industry Presence: Attend industry events, seminars, and trade shows to promote the company and expand its market reach.
  • Product & Service Enhancement: Work closely with internal teams to enhance products and services based on customer feedback.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to maximise aftermarket opportunities and ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in business development, aftermarket sales, or a similar commercial role within a manufacturing organisation.
  • Industry knowledge of boiler cleaning equipment is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong marketing, sales, and customer-facing skills.
  • Experience working in technical sales and project management.
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, or Management.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with a hunter mentality for identifying new opportunities.

Additional Details:

  • Travel: Regular travel (approx. 30%) within the UK and occasional international travel, sometimes at short notice.
  • Hybrid Working: Flexible working arrangements may be considered.
