Talent Magpie is partnering with a growing, commercially driven business seeking a National Account Manager to develop and expand retail partnerships while securing new business opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who excels at building trusted client relationships, delivering measurable results, and identifying opportunities to add value in a competitive market. You will act as a key link between customers and internal teams (including sourcing, marketing, and supply chain), ensuring solutions are delivered to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management
- Manage and grow relationships with existing retail clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, loyalty, and profitability.
- Act as the primary point of contact, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
- Understand client objectives and deliver tailored, results-driven solutions.
- Regularly review account performance and implement strategies to drive growth.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the retail sector.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through networking, research, and lead generation.
- Deliver compelling, value-led proposals and manage the full sales cycle from pitch through to close.
- Execute strategic plans to expand the client base.
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets across both existing accounts and new business.
- Monitor performance and provide accurate reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure offerings remain aligned with market trends.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Share market insights and client feedback to help shape product and service development.
About You
- Proven experience in National Account Management, ideally within FMCG, retail, or a related sector.
- Strong track record in business development and driving sales growth.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercially focused, results-driven, and highly self-motivated.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strategic mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
- Experience working with retail or wholesale clients.
- Knowledge of retail trends and competitive landscape.
- Relevant qualification in business, marketing, or a related field (not essential).
