We’re partnering with a fast-paced FMCG business in Surrey to hire an experienced HR Business Partner. This is a true generalist role supporting a key business area, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to drive people initiatives, strengthen engagement, and support a high-performing culture. This is a hybrid role, with regular onsite presence to stay close to the operation and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted HR partner to senior leaders, providing proactive and commercial people advice.
- Support delivery of the people plan aligned to business goals (performance, engagement, capability, retention).
- Lead on employee relations casework including absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance and investigations.
- Coach and challenge leaders to build confidence in managing teams and handling HR matters effectively.
- Partner with the business on organisational design, restructuring, and change programmes where required.
- Support talent and succession planning, development initiatives, and workforce planning.
- Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development planning.
- Contribute to DE&I, wellbeing and culture initiatives across the organisation.
- Use HR data and insights to identify trends and improve outcomes (turnover, absence, engagement, etc.).
- Ensure HR policies and processes are applied consistently and in line with UK employment law.
- Work closely with the wider HR team (TA, Reward, L&D) to deliver joined-up solutions.
About You
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor in a fast-paced environment (ideally FMCG, retail, manufacturing, logistics, or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and confidence managing ER matters end-to-end.
- Commercial mindset able to balance employee experience with business priorities.
- Confident influencing and building credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, operational environment while also contributing strategically.
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- CIPD Level 5 minimum (Level 7 preferred, or working towards).
