Our client is a fast-growing international consumer products business with a portfolio of market-leading brands across connected technology and lifestyle categories. Due to continued expansion across the UK market, they are seeking an ambitious and commercially focused National Account Manager to develop strategic retail partnerships and drive sales performance across key accounts.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the UK's most recognised retail partners, including major electrical, department store, value, and multichannel retailers such as Currys, Argos, John Lewis, TK Maxx, Very, Amazon, and other leading national accounts.

The National Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with major retail customers across the UK, delivering commercial plans, and driving sales growth. This is a highly visible role requiring a combination of account management, retail execution, training, and business development expertise.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing strategic partnerships with leading UK retailers, driving category growth, securing promotional opportunities, and maximising brand visibility both in-store and online.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail partners at both store and head office level.
  • Manage and grow key UK retail accounts, including customers such as Currys, Argos, John Lewis, TK Maxx, Very, Amazon, and other major national retailers.
  • Deliver in-store training programmes to ensure retail teams are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to effectively sell products.
  • Negotiate and secure optimal in-store positioning, displays, promotional activity, and incremental shelf space.
  • Lead annual business planning, joint business plans, and commercial negotiations with key retail partners.
  • Collaborate closely with internal marketing, commercial, operations, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure successful execution of campaigns and promotions.
  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure promotional activity is implemented effectively across retail channels.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Manage forecasting, sales reporting, inventory planning, and aged stock reduction initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong long-term business relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to increase distribution, improve ranging, and drive incremental revenue across key accounts.

3–10 years' experience in sales, account management, business development, or field sales.

  • Proven experience managing major UK retail customers within consumer electronics, technology, electrical retail, consumer goods, FMCG, lifestyle, or related sectors.
  • Experience working with retailers such as Currys, Argos, John Lewis, TK Maxx, Very, Amazon, or similar national accounts would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Experience delivering product training and supporting retail execution would be advantageous.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and sales reporting systems.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK.
