Salary & Benefits
Guaranteed take-home pay: ÂŁ43,614.20. This includes:
- ÂŁ40,314.20 basic salary
- ÂŁ1,300 shift allowance
- ÂŁ2,000 additional payment, paid in ÂŁ500 increments every 3 months in January, April, July and October
Average earnings are around £53,000 with on-call and overtime, although there are plenty of opportunities to earn substantially more. You’ll also receive a new automatic company van with personal use and paid fuel, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, life insurance, BUPA cover, and a company mobile and tablet.

You’ll work on a wide range of customer sites including pubs, stadiums, airports, hospitals, hotels and universities. The work includes:
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Breakdown diagnosis and repairs
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Installations and commissioning
- Customer-facing site work
- Quality service rather than high-volume call-outs
Qualifications & Skills
We’re looking for an engineer with a solid electrical background and experience in:
- Electrical fault finding and repairs
- Wiring and diagnostics
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Working on equipment, appliances, machinery or site-based systems
Highly relevant backgrounds include catering equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, coffee machines, bakery equipment, dishwasher / warewash systems, field service, electrical maintenance, electrical service, mobile electrician / electrician, multiskilled maintenance, electromechanical engineering, service technician, mobile maintenance, and engineers from pumps, motors, automated machinery, packaging machinery, vending, FM or plant maintenance backgrounds.
Qualifications (flexible)
17th or 18th Edition is useful, but we will also consider engineers with strong hands-on electrical fault-finding experience on commercial equipment. Electrical apprenticeships, engineering qualifications, NVQ Level 3 Electrical, 17th or 18th Edition, and other relevant electrical or electromechanical backgrounds are all of interest. Mechanical fitters with good electrical experience are also considered.
Training
Full training provided, with 3 months structured training initially and continued development over the next two years.
Working Hours / Overtime / On-Call
- Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm
- Overtime paid at time and a half and double time
- On-call rota begins after 3 months training
- Typically 1 weekend in 3 on call
- Friday 5pm to 7pm paid at 1.5x
- Saturday 8am to 5pm paid at 1.5x
- Sunday 8am to 5pm paid at double time
- Bank holidays paid at double time
- All on-call work paid at overtime rates and door to door
