Job Description: Senior Project Planner (SC Cleared) - £400-475 per day inside IR35 – Bristol (2 days per week on site), Initial 12 months, Defence industry.

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules across complex engineering and delivery programmes. The role focuses on schedule management, project controls, reporting, risk analysis and stakeholder coordination within a structured PMO environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining Level 1-3 integrated project schedules
  • Managing WBS, OBS, RBS and CBS project structures
  • Producing schedule analysis including critical path and float reporting
  • Maintaining cost and resource-loaded schedules
  • Supporting earned value management and schedule variance analysis
  • Conducting schedule risk analysis and what-if scenario planning
  • Coordinating supplier and subcontractor schedules
  • Supporting project change management and impact assessments
  • Leading planning workshops and rolling wave planning sessions
  • Ensuring alignment between scheduling, financial and material planning toolsets
  • Producing regular project reporting, forecasts and schedule updates

Experience required:

  • Previous experience within a Planning Engineer, Project Controls or PMO Scheduling role
  • Strong experience producing and managing integrated project schedules
  • Knowledge of critical path analysis, forecasting and earned value management
  • Experience working within complex engineering, infrastructure, defence or regulated environments
  • Ability to work across multiple stakeholders and programme teams
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills
  • Strong experience with MS Planner and associated scheduling toolsets is essential.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale engineering programmes within an established project delivery environment with extensions after 12 months available.
