Security Architect – Defence & National Security (SC Cleared)
Location: Farnborough / Hybrid | Clearance: SC Cleared | Salary: £90k + excellent benefits

Looking to use your security architecture and assurance to make a real difference on high-impact defence and national security projects? This Digital Innovations & Delivery partner has impressive year-on-year growth secured for the next three years, so there are plenty of fantastic projects for you to work on across MOD & Defence.

A SC or DV Security Architect, or SC security assurance architect is required to join a fast-paced partner working on some of the UK’s most innovative digital transformation programmes in secure environments. You’ll need strong SecOps design and build experience, along with hands-on involvement in writing security policies, managing formal assurance documentation, and engaging with governance frameworks. Location-wise, this is flexible and could be Farnborough or home based.

What you’ll be doing
• Designing robust, secure-by-design architectures aligned to MOD and wider government standards
• Writing and maintaining formal security policies and documentation
• Managing risk using frameworks like NIST 800-53 and producing key security artefacts (RMAs, Security Aspects, Test Plans, etc.)
• Working with cross-functional teams including DevSecOps, Software, Infrastructure and Agile delivery
• Leading on security assurance processes across the programme lifecycle
• Providing strategic guidance on cyber security, threat mitigation, and compliance
• Engaging with MOD stakeholders, accreditors, and assurance bodies to meet regulatory requirements

What you’ll bring
• Strong experience in designing and assuring security architectures in Defence or similar secure sectors
• Experience writing security policies and working with formal assurance processes
• Deep understanding of security components (cryptography, access control, data inspection etc.)
• Experience working with MOD and familiarity with JSP 604/453 and MOD assurance frameworks
• High standards in documentation and stakeholder communication
• Currently SC or DV Cleared

Bonus if you have: DevSecOps, Agile or CI/CD experience, or exposure to tools like Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, NodeJS, MongoDB, or Kafka
