Contract role for a defence consultancy on a MOD project for a senior DevOps engineer. You'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting a critical application within a highly secure, air-gapped client environment across both Windows and Linux platforms.
The role will involve building confidence in manual deployments through structured knowledge transfer and shadowing, while gradually taking ownership of deployment and support activities. You'll use your scripting knowledge in areas such as Bash, SQL, and automation to help streamline deployments and operational processes, while also developing hands-on experience with Docker and containerised environments.
There will also be the opportunity to progress into using Ansible to help automate and accelerate deployments, supported by established documentation and experienced team members. Working closely with architecture, testing, and data migration teams, you'll play a key part in ensuring successful delivery across the wider programme, while also providing support and guidance to more junior DevOps engineers within the project team.
You will need to have current SC clearance and start within 2 weeks of offer.
