Contract opportunities are available for experienced Platform Engineers supporting secure defence and MOD programmes. These outside IR35 assignments suit engineers who enjoy building and operating resilient platforms in highly regulated, security-cleared environments, including hybrid and air-gapped systems.
The role sits within platform and DevOps teams focused on automation, reliability, and operational excellence. Engineers will contribute to the design, build, and improvement of critical platform services while influencing standards, tooling, and engineering best practice.
Key responsibilities- Develop and enhance platform services across hybrid environments
- Improve and standardise automated deployment and CI/CD pipelines
- Strengthen observability, monitoring, and proactive operations
- Support incident response, troubleshooting, and service improvements
- Provide guidance on platform patterns, tooling, and best practices
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical governance
- Share knowledge and support capability uplift across teams
- Strong background in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Confidence working in secure, regulated, or air-gapped environments, working for MOD or defence projects
- Have Security Clearance in place prior to appointment
