This contract role sits at the centre of complex defence programmes, shaping how capabilities are designed, delivered and evolved. As an Enterprise Architect, you will work closely with senior architecture leadership to develop clear, usable business and enterprise architectures that support operational and strategic decision making.
You will need to have SC prior to appointment. Initial contract 3 months with project length 12m+
You will translate complexity into clarity. That means producing architectural artefacts that make sense to non-architects, senior leaders and technical teams alike. You will coordinate multi-stakeholder inputs, identify performance gaps, and propose practical options for improvement. The role also involves contributing directly to High Level Design and solution documentation, covering the full service lifecycle from concept through design, build, test and deployment.
Core Focus- Develop and maintain enterprise and business architectures for complex programmes
- Produce high quality architectural artefacts and visualisations
- Facilitate workshops and structured stakeholder engagement
- Identify architectural risks, gaps and improvement options
- Support HLDs, solution architecture and final project reporting
- Engage with customers and industry partners across the UK
- Strong experience delivering Enterprise Architecture using TOGAF, MODAF or NAF
- Skilled in ArchiMate 3.0, UML, BPMN and EA tooling such as Archi, Sparx EA, BiZZDesign or MooD
- Experience developing digital architectures relevant to defence air or RAF programmes
- Ability to produce exploitable architectures for HLDs and solution designs
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and delivery teams
- Knowledge of defence domains including C2, ISR or logistics.
- Exposure to cloud, microservices, secure by design, APIs, data or AI
- Experience supporting innovation or R and D programmes
