Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Somerset - Highest Security Clearance Needed - £600 P/Day Outside IR35

We’re working with a specialist digital innovation partner delivering secure, mission-critical technology to Defence and National Security organisations.

You’ll join a team tackling complex infrastructure challenges across highly secure environments, working alongside engineers, architects and delivery specialists.

The Role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll help design, build and deliver secure digital solutions supporting critical operations.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Configuring and hardening Cisco Nexus Leaf/Spine architectures for high-throughput, low-latency traffic.
  • Initialising and presenting Net App storage arrays, ensuring data-at-rest encryption is enforced.
  • Building and hardening Hyper-V clusters supporting core services such as AD, DNS and PKI.
  • Supporting the enablement and integration of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) private cloud environments.
  • Initialising and managing HSM/KMS appliances, including leading key ceremonies within high-assurance environments.
  • Carrying out professional rack-and-stack and secure cabling in accordance with high physical-security standards.

We’re particularly interested in engineers with experience across

  • Cisco Nexus or equivalent networking technologies.
  • Net App ONTAP or equivalent enterprise storage.
  • Deploying Hyper-V in high-availability, high-security environments.
  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 5+).
  • Hardware-based cryptographic systems such as HSM/KMS.
  • Windows Server 2022/2025.
  • Secure infrastructure environments and physical infrastructure builds.
  • Security Clearance

Due to the secure nature of the role and working environment, candidates must hold the highest level of UK Security Clearance.
