Talent Locker are pleased to be partnered with a leading consultancy based in the South West, hiring a Senior Systems Engineering Consultant to join their Systems & Supportability team based in Bristol. Please note – An internal BPSS check will be required prior to site access and candidates must be eligible for security clearance with checks underway prior to appointment.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of MOD programmes, supporting activities throughout the CADMID lifecycle. Working closely and collaboratively with MOD stakeholders and industry partners to shape, design and integrate complex systems across multiple defence domains. You will be contributing to system architecture development, requirements definition and integration activities, applying modern systems engineering approaches to ensure solutions are robust and aligned with operational needs. This opportunity would suit someone comfortable operating in both consultancy and delivery environments, capable of working independently while collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities:- Develop and refine system architectures for defence programmes, ensuring alignment with MOD requirements
- Capture, analyse and manage user and system requirements, maintaining traceability through the lifecycle
- Support procurement and assurance activities through clear requirements evidence and documentation
- Apply modern systems engineering approaches including MBSE to support design, analysis and verification
- Work with stakeholders to understand operational needs and incorporate feedback into system designs
- Support system integration and testing activities including system of systems considerations
- Identify technical and delivery risks and contribute to mitigation strategies
- Produce high quality documentation including architecture specifications and reports
- Knowledge of Defence lines of development
- Experience using requirements management tools including DOORS and Dimensions RM
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with modern systems engineering practices including MBSE
- Experience supporting system of systems integration and testing
- A track record working in a consultancy or advisory role
- A deep understanding of the UK defence acquisition framework (business cases, URD, SRD, ITEAP)
