An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join their team in Watford, Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities for HSE Manager:
- Provide consistent and accurate HSE advice to HSE Advisors and site teams across the region
- Line manage and mentor HSE Advisors, supporting their professional development
- Conduct regular site visits, detailed monthly HSE inspections, and audits
- Lead and support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and producing reports within required timeframes
- Produce and communicate HSE alerts and monthly regional HSE statistics, identifying trends and driving improvements
- Attend client HSE forums and form collaborative relationships with client HSE management
- Deliver awareness training and lead site standdowns
- Support facilities management at regional company premises on HSE related matters
- Promote occupational health and wellbeing across the region
Essential Requirements for HSE Manager:
- NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
- CSCS Safety Professional Card
- Extensive HSE experience within a civil engineering environment
- Strong incident investigation, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Able to work independently and as part of a team to tight deadlines
Desirable:
- IOSH or CEnv qualification
- Working towards NEBOSH Diploma Level 6
- Level 3 AET or PTLLS
- Kelvin TOPSET or equivalent incident investigation training
- Experience in the rail sector
