An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities of Contracts Manager:
- Ensure projects are planned and programmed to the level of detail required for site teams to deliver without delays.
- Monitor project resources, challenge overspend, and identify efficiencies to improve programme and margin.
- Ensure commercial plans and end-of-life forecasts are in place and monitored monthly.
- Review CVRs monthly with project teams and implement necessary actions.
- Review and challenge project teams on Cost Plans, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Ensure correct commercial engagement of subcontractors and compliance with commercial policies.
- Produce and analyse progress reports, updated costs, and forecasts.
- Manage both temporary and permanent design to meet project requirements.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure direct workforce is allocated in line with programme.
- Set the highest standards of HS&E leadership, ensuring compliance with procedures and legal obligations.
- Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with HAUC, NRSWA, Chapter 8, and other regulatory standards.
- Ensure ITPs and QA Files are produced and maintained, promoting best practice throughout.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, chairing and leading customer meetings.
Essential Requirements for Contracts Manager:
- Extensive experience managing projects within a civil or water environment.
- Good working knowledge of CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control.
- Knowledge of NEC contract including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms.
- HNC, HND, or Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
- SMSTS and CSCS card.
- Experience in pre-qualification and tendering for multi-disciplinary projects.
- Excellent people management, influencing, and mentoring skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project; P6 an advantage.
Desirable:
- CEng MICE or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
