Our client, a leading Civil Engineering and Infrastructure specialist, is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent.
Responsibilities of a Site Engineer:
- Ensure all works are completed in line with environmental requirements.
- Uphold high-quality standards and support continuous improvement across the project.
- Ensure work is delivered free from defects and proactively identify opportunities for value engineering.
- Follow internal quality procedures and contribute to best-practice implementation.
- Set up and manage site survey controls and levels for multiple projects.
- Carry out accurate setting out of works in accordance with project drawings, performing regular checks.
- Maintain precise site records that meet both internal and legal requirements.
- Address unexpected technical issues and help resolve on-site challenges as they arise.
- Prepare procurement schedules and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure resources are available when needed.
- Create Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and deliver task briefings.
- Develop a two-week look-ahead programme in collaboration with the Site Agent.
- Complete daily site diaries and allocation sheets to support project reporting.
Required Experience for Site Engineer:
- Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations.
- Fully conversant with the use of robotic total stations or EDM instruments.
- Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
Desirable:
- Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Temporary-works co-ordination.
- CSCS card.
- Cable avoidance training.
- First aid training.
- NEBOSH or IOSH.
