Our client, a leading engineering and design consultancy, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team, with opportunities available across the Thames Valley region. This position sits within a specialist commercial and procurement team, supporting complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Work collaboratively within an integrated client team, building strong relationships with stakeholders, project managers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Monitor and manage project costs to ensure delivery remains within budget, including validating contractor and supplier applications and payments.
  • Produce clear and accurate financial reports, providing insight into project performance, risks, and forecasts.
  • Support procurement activities, including tender evaluation and contractor appointment.
  • Administer contracts in line with agreed terms and conditions, including managing change processes and maintaining accurate project records.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks while supporting value engineering initiatives to improve project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Experience Required for Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Member of, or working towards membership with, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience working on civil infrastructure or major projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard UK construction contracts such as NEC, ICC, FIDIC, or JCT.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues is desirable.
