An opportunity is available for a Principal/Associate Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join a well-established multidisciplinary water team delivering infrastructure and environmental solutions across the UK and internationally. The team works on a broad portfolio of projects including wastewater networks, drainage design, SuDS, and surface water management for water utilities, local authorities, transport authorities, and private developers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead hydraulic modelling studies including model build, maintenance, calibration, and verification.
- Support the delivery of storm overflow reduction, flood alleviation, and environmental improvement schemes.
- Develop wastewater catchment strategies and associated infrastructure solutions.
- Ensure technical quality, compliance with relevant standards, and high-quality project outputs.
- Work closely with project managers to deliver programmes of work effectively.
- Contribute to bid preparation, including technical inputs and cost estimates.
- Mentor and support junior staff while encouraging professional development.
- Participate in technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
- Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects.
- Expertise using InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.
- Expertise in hydraulic modelling, catchment planning and solution development.
- Ability to review work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Expertise in MS 365 applications, and knowledge in areas such as PowerBI and SharePoint.
- Experience working with software such as FME, Optimatics, Ruby (or similar) would be advantageous.
- Relevant degree or vocational qualification.
- Chartered with a relevant professional institution (i.e. ICE or CIWEM) would be advantageous.
