Design Manager in Portsmouth

An established contractor is looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their team on a major water infrastructure project in the Portsmouth. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of design packages across a complex, multi-disciplinary project, working through planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning stages. Responsibilities of Design Manager: Understand client requirements and review the suitability of proposed solutions given site constraints Review design submissions before issuing to the client and coordinate responses to client comments in a timely manner Lead and review mechanical design, specifications, equipment orders, and schedules Manage the delivery of design projects within a BIM environment Conduct site asset surveys at scoping and commissioning/handover stages Liaise with operations, maintenance staff, and stakeholders throughout design and commissioning stages Attend design and progress meetings, tender handover, and pre-start meetings Review and approve design consultant applications for payment Ensure compliance with current industry standards and manage risk and commercial performance effectively Ensure timely management of both temporary and permanent design to meet project requirements Essential Requirements for Design Manager:
