A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Manchester.
Responsibilities of Managing Quantity Surveyor:
- Provide accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels
- Draft and update monthly CVRs, cost and commercial plans, and cash flow reports
- Compile upstream applications for payment through to final account settlement
- Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and financial accounting
- Liaise with clients and third parties on commercial issues including contractual change, claims, and additional payment
- Effectively manage contract and subcontract agreements, primarily IChemE and NEC forms
- Ensure supply chain is engaged with correct contract terms and conditions, maintaining strong relationships
- Support all internal commercial processes, ensuring adherence to timeframes and compliance
- Identify and realise commercial opportunities whilst protecting the business from commercial risk
- Share best practice and proactively advise site teams on cost management and efficiencies
Essential Requirements for Managing Quantity Surveyor:
- Previous experience in the construction industry in a commercial role
- Familiarity with IChemE and NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law
- Proven experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement
