Our Client, a leading engineering and design consultancy, is seeking a Risk Manager to join their team in Leeds, Manchester or Stockton-on-Tees. As a Risk Manager or Senior Risk Manager, you will play a key role in major infrastructure programmes across sectors such as transport, energy, and public infrastructure, helping manage uncertainty and improve project outcomes.

Responsibilities of Risk Manager:

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality risk management services to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Apply effective risk practices to minimise uncertainty across projects and programmes.
  • Support the design and implementation of risk frameworks aligned with best practice.
  • Lead risk workshops and collaborate with project teams.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analysis using recognised tools.
  • Produce clear and relevant risk reports for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to improving risk processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Assist with bids, proposals, and business development efforts.
  • Engage with clients and support the promotion of risk services.

Experience Required for Risk Manager:

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in risk management or a related discipline.
  • Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g. transport, energy, infrastructure).
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000, IRM, or APM.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, conducting risk reviews, and reporting insights.
  • Familiarity with tools such as ARM, Xactium, Primavera Risk Analysis, SafranRisk, @Risk, or Risk Predict!.
  • Understanding of value management principles.
  • Awareness of how risk integrates with project controls (cost, planning, contracts).
