A leading engineering and design consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their Ground Engineering team in either Manchester, Leeds, or Belfast. Responsibilities of Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer:
- Lead geotechnical projects with strong technical and management credentials across UK and international programmes
- Mentor and develop junior geotechnical engineers within the team
- Deliver geotechnical design including structures, foundations, slopes, and anchors using appropriate tools and workflows
- Apply digital geotechnical engineering capability including AI and machine learning in geotechnical design
- Manage client relationships, work planning, and commercial management across projects
- Apply CDM Regulations within design and ground investigation environments
- Support business development and work winning activity to expand infrastructure and energy geotechnics capability
- Produce high quality reports with a self-checking approach to accuracy and delivery
Essential Requirements Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology with a postgraduate qualification in a geotechnical subject
- Chartered status as a civil engineer or geologist
- Proven geotechnical design experience and numerical/analytical capabilities using tools such as GeoStudio, Repute, Wallap, or equivalent
- Experience working in Design and Build environments
- Strong project management and commercial track record
