Our client, a leading multidisciplinary engineering and construction consultancy, is seeking a CDM Health & Safety Consultant to join their team based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, supporting projects across sectors including property, industrial, and education.
Responsibilities of Health & Safety Consultant:
- Deliver Health & Safety consultancy services across standalone commissions and wider multidisciplinary project teams.
- Prepare and manage pre-construction information packs, health & safety files, and associated CDM documentation.
- Monitor and support design team compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
- Review contractor submissions and assess compliance with project and legislative requirements.
- Liaise closely with clients, contractors, and design teams throughout project delivery.
- Provide guidance to clients on procurement strategies and consultant appointments.
- Support the growth and development of Health & Safety services across the region through business development activities.
- Stay informed on current construction legislation, industry standards, and regulatory updates.
Required Experience for Health & Safety Consultant:
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety consultancy role, ideally within construction, engineering, or design environments.
- Professional qualification in a construction or design-related discipline.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum requirement).
- Membership of APS and/or IOSH would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and wider construction Health & Safety legislation.
- Working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
- Ability to deliver Health & Safety training would be beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong client management and relationship-building capabilities.
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proactive problem-solving approach with confident decision-making skills.
