Talent Link Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join a well-established clothing manufacturer based near Halifax. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working on a variety of garments and takes pride in producing high-quality work. The role offers a mix of products across menswear and womenswear, making it ideal for a machinist who enjoys full garment construction rather than repetitive tasks.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

The Role

  • Sewing a wide range of pre-cut garments across menswear and womenswear
  • Working on different styles, requiring both speed and attention to detail
  • Operating industrial sewing machines, including lockstitch and overlock
  • Using additional machines, such as blind hem and cover stitch, where required
  • Working with a variety of fabrics
  • Completing garments with minimal supervision
  • Working as part of a team within a production environment

Requirements

  • Strong and accurate sewing machine skills
  • Previous experience using industrial sewing machines
  • Good attention to detail and quality of finish
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Desirable

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a clothing production environment
  • Experience using additional machines, such as blind hem or cover stitch
