Our client, a leading Civil Engineering and Infrastructure specialist, is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team in Stoke on Trent.
Key Responsibilities of Site Engineer:
- Support the successful delivery of multiple regional projects by carrying out site engineering duties in line with contract requirements and company standards.
- Set out works accurately from contract drawings and establish survey and level controls, ensuring regular checks are completed and recorded throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance by promoting safe working practices, following company procedures, and ensuring all activities are delivered safely and responsibly.
- Ensure quality workmanship by adhering to best practices, minimising defects and snags, and identifying opportunities for value engineering where possible.
- Keep accurate site records and documentation in line with organisational and legal requirements, including site diaries, allocation sheets, ITPs, and task briefings.
- Assist with planning and coordination by producing procurement schedules, liaising with the procurement team to secure adequate resources, and preparing 2-week look-ahead programmes alongside the Site Agent.
- Identify and resolve technical issues or unexpected site challenges efficiently to maintain project progress and minimise disruption.
Required Experience for Site Engineer:
- Essential
- Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations.
- Fully conversant with the use of robotic total stations or EDM instruments.
- Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.

- Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Temporary-works co-ordination.
- CSCS card.
- Cable avoidance training.
- First aid training.
- NEBOSH or IOSH.
