Our client, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, is seeking a Site Agent/Sub Agent to support the delivery of a range of infrastructure projects in London.
Responsibilities of Site Agent/Sub Agent:
- Manage day-to-day site operations to ensure successful project delivery
- Lead or support delivery teams including Engineers, Foremen and Sub Agents
- Develop and manage project programmes, including short-term lookaheads
- Ensure works are delivered to specification, on time and defect-free
- Interpret drawings and provide technical guidance to site teams
- Produce and implement key documentation including RAMS, ITPs and project plans
- Maintain accurate site records, reports and as-built information
- Act as the main site representative, liaising with clients and stakeholders
- Lead site meetings and provide regular progress updates
- Ensure client requirements are met and expectations exceeded
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure full HSEQ compliance
- Manage subcontractors and ensure all personnel are competent and inducted
- Ensure inspections, audits and quality checks are completed and recorded
- Deliver works in line with environmental and quality standards
- Support cost control and maximise project value through efficient delivery
- Assist with procurement and ensure resources are in place
- Maintain detailed records to support commercial reporting
- Identify risks, resolve issues and highlight value engineering opportunities
Experience Required for Site Agent/Sub Agent:
- Experience in a Site Agent or Sub Agent role within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of construction delivery, programme and cost control
- Knowledge of NEC (or similar) contracts and CDM regulations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage site teams effectively
- Relevant qualification (HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent)
- CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent)
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in highly regulated or complex project environments
- Temporary Works or other site-based certifications
- Progression towards professional accreditation (e.g. ICE)
- Familiarity with planning software (e.g. Primavera P6)
