An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team in the Hertfordshire region.

Responsibilities for Senior Engineer:

  • Establish level and survey control for contracts, overseeing daily setting out activities and ensuring Site Engineers are capable and confident
  • Be present for critical setting out activities and ensure checks are made regularly
  • Supervise and mentor trainee and site engineers across the region, acting as line manager for their development and growth
  • Assist the Site Agent/Sub Agent in developing efficient work methods and techniques
  • Undertake pre-start material take-offs and populate material procurement schedules
  • Compile ITPs and Quality Management Plans, briefing site teams before delivery
  • Complete quality audit records following agreed procedures and timescales
  • Prepare and issue method statements and organise toolbox talks
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental records are complete, accurate, and compliant
  • Obtain all as-built information ensuring it is accurate and relevant ahead of project handover

Essential Requirements for Senior Engineer:

  • Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects xiskglj including highways, infrastructure, and reinforced concrete works
  • Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • CSCS card, SMSTS, and Confined Space training
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Strong record keeping and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients, site teams, and operatives
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
