A leading engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer (Dams & Reservoirs) to join their team at one of their offices across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of nationally significant dam and reservoir projects, working within multidisciplinary teams across feasibility, detailed design, construction, and long-term asset management. Visa sponsorship is available for this role.
Responsibilities for Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer:
- Lead geotechnical and dam engineering projects from concept through to construction support
- Undertake and review geotechnical assessments for earth embankments, reservoirs, flood defences, and levees
- Lead dam safety reviews, risk assessments, and engineering evaluations
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, and design documentation
- Support business development, framework opportunities, and client engagement
- Mentor and develop junior and senior members of the geotechnical team
Essential Requirements for Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognised professional institution
- Extensive experience in geotechnical consultancy or major infrastructure delivery
- Proven experience in design, assessment, and rehabilitation of earth dams, reservoir embankments, and water-retaining structures
- Proficiency in GeoStudio Suite, PLAXIS 2D/3D, and Rocscience Suite
- Excellent report writing and stakeholder engagement skills
