We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Officer to join our Hampshire client. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, managing employee benefits, and maintaining compliance with UK employment and tax regulations. You will play a key role in supporting employees with payroll queries, administering benefits schemes, and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accurate calculations of salaries, bonuses, and deductions in line with UK tax and employment laws.

• Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits schemes, including pensions, healthcare, and other company offerings.

• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure payroll and benefits practices comply with HMRC regulations, pension auto-enrolment requirements, and internal policies.

• Payroll Queries: Act as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits-related queries, providing clear guidance to employees.

• Data Management: Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.

• Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to payroll and benefits processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and external payroll providers to ensure seamless payroll operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.

• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and pension schemes.

• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, ADP, Cloudpay, Workday) and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• A proactive and confidential approach to handling sensitive data.

Desirable

• CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or working towards one.

• Experience working with high-volume payrolls or Bi-weekly payrolls
