We are supporting a local authority to appoint a senior leader to drive a complex and high-profile Children's Services transformation agenda. This role will lead system-wide improvement across SEND, early help, sufficiency and commissioning, working closely with partners across health, education and the voluntary sector to deliver sustainable change, improve outcomes and reduce financial pressure.
Key Areas of Focus
- SEND reform, including Safety Valve, demand management and inspection readiness
- Service redesign into localities, strengthening partnership footprints and early intervention
- Strategic leadership of Family Help/Early Help transformation and prevention
- Commissioning and re-commissioning, including market development and partnerships
- Children's homes sufficiency, placements and cost reduction strategies
- Ofsted/SEND inspection readiness, governance and performance improvement
About You
- Senior leader (Head of Service/Assistant Director or equivalent)
- Strong experience across SEND, commissioning and transformation
- Proven track record delivering sufficiency and inspection improvement
- Experienced in multi-agency system leadership (LA, ICB, VCS)
- Commercially and financially astute, able to manage demand and cost pressures
