I'm working with a professional services firm in Birmingham that's looking to bring in a Financial Accountant into their Management Accounts team. This isn't a narrow reporting role; it sits right in the middle of the business, where finance meets operations, senior stakeholders, and decision-making.
You'll be involved in the full rhythm of the finance function, from monthly and quarterly management accounts through to budgeting, forecasting, and year-end. Alongside the core reporting cycle, there's plenty of exposure to balance sheet work, technical accounting (FRS 102), audit, and ongoing improvements across systems and processes.
A big part of the role is interaction, working closely with Heads of Department, senior leaders, overseas finance teams, and external auditors. It's a good fit for someone who's comfortable being in the detail but also wants to understand what the numbers are actually driving across the wider business.
What they want:
- ACA (or equivalent) qualified
- A couple of years post-qualification experience
