Our Central Government client is looking for a strong hands-on Unix/Linux engineer with deep Linux and Solaris administration capability, required to support a security-critical production estate including legacy Solaris platforms.
Key Technical Skills:
- Linux Administration
- RHEL / CentOS (or equivalent)
- Performance troubleshooting, patching, system management
- Solaris
- Strong experience administering legacy Solaris systems
- ZFS, system stability, and production support
- Core Unix Engineering
- OS-level troubleshooting (CPU, memory, disk, services)
- System patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Scripting / automation (shell, basic tooling)
- Production Support
- Experience in live enterprise environments
- Incident, problem, and change execution
Environment:
- Secure, audited, highly regulated infrastructure
- Mixed Linux and legacy Unix estate requiring specialist support capability
This is a short-term requirement for a technically strong Security-Cleared Unix engineer with Solaris expertise, capable of operating independently in a controlled, production environment to support exit delivery. You must hold Active SC clearance.
